Dan started in valuation profession in 1995 with Jackson & Associates Valuation and Consulting in Courtenay, BC. He received his AACI designation in 1999 and purchased the company in 2000. He received his RI(BC) designation from the Real Estate Institute of BC in 2000 and his CRP designation from the Real Estate Institute of Canada in 2012.

In 2017, Dan also became one of the founding partners of Verra Group Valuations. With more than 30 years in the valuation profession, Dan specializes in complex commercial and ICI assignments, partial interest and conservation valuation and insurance appraisals and Depreciation Reports for a wide spectrum of local, provincial and national based clients.

Dan has volunteered with the AIC continuously since 2001 at the chapter, provincial and national level serving on the AIC BC Board of Directors and the AIC National Board of Directors. In 2007-2009 Dan served two terms as AIC BC Provincial President and served as AIC National President in 2013-2024. Dan continues to volunteer through his role as Chair of the Board of Directors of Verity Claims Management (AIC’s Claims Management Company) and as a Vetter with the AIC’s Peer Review Committee.
