About the Session
Appraisal fees have evolved significantly over the past decades, shaped by changing lender expectations, the emergence of AMCs, increased regulatory requirements, and growing time demands on appraisers. This has also triggered concerns regarding commercial appraisal fees.
In this candid and practical session, Leigh Walker, P. App, CRA (Lawrenson Walker Appraisals) and Mike LaPorte, AACI (NLD Appraisals), explore how appraisal fees have developed over time and why today’s fee landscape looks the way it does. The discussion will examine different fee structures across client types, the influence of AMCs, and the realities of today’s appraisal economics. Most importantly, the session will focus on strategies for positioning your practice to achieve stronger fees and introduce a new way of thinking about how appraisers can be compensated in the future.
Special guest, Patrick Ardies, Region VP of NAS, will be joining, so expect an open, honest conversation about one of the profession’s most important—and most debated—topics.
