About the Session
Kick off the 2026 AIC-BC Candidate Symposium with a practical overview of the path to designation with the Appraisal Institute of Canada. In this 45-minute opening session, AIC-BC's CEO, Christina Bhalla, will provide an update on the current path to designation, including course requirements, eligibility documentation, and key components of the Applied Experience Program and exam.
Following the overview, Christina will be joined by Brett Garnett of Garnett Wilson Realty Advisors for a discussion on the career side of becoming an appraiser. Together they will share practical insights on transitioning from Candidate to designated appraiser, tips for getting hired, and what to consider during the first few years of building a career in the profession.
This session is designed to help Candidates better understand both the formal requirements and the real-world considerations of becoming an appraiser, while offering practical guidance and addressing common questions Candidates have along the way.
